Kuthumba is a haven for bird enthusiasts. Bush pig, porcupine and buck roam freely. Hiking trails laid out by the Forestry dept lead from your doorstep through the indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest - to the estuary of the Salt river and Nature's Valley Beach - beautiful, secluded and peaceful. JULAY HOUSE This spacious stylish home has the charm of sourced antique finishes and the strict environmental architectural guidelines allow for perfect insulation in both summer & winter. Accommodation in the main house comprises of a downstairs bedroom with a queen size bed with full bathroom across the passage and an outside bush shower. Upstairs is the luxurious and very romantic main bedroom with a king size bed, mosquito net and a veranda that opens onto stunning views of Mount Formosa. There is a second bedroom upstairs with 2 single beds. A bathroom with shower is shared between the 2 bedrooms. The lounge has a wood burning fire place which gives for cosy evenings in winter. A television is available with satellite dish and a DVD player is also supplied. The kitchen is open plan to the dining room and has a gas stove with electric oven. A microwave is provided. A washing machine for guests use is in the scullery/laundry room. A wide veranda opening onto a lawned garden and enclosed lilly pond, offers a comfortable outdoor entertainment area and has a weber for braaing (barbequing). There is a sunroom off the veranda with a sleeper couch affording further accommodation for 2 people. Thus the main house can sleep 8 (3 double and 2 single beds). JISPA COTTAGE The fairytale "cottage in the woods" nestles in the forest, cool and secluded. It has a unique style, giving one a feeling of peace as one steps in through the door. It is spacious and well appointed. Accommodation comprises of 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and has wide windows looking into the forest. The second has 2 single beds. The bathroom with bath has access from both bedrooms, and an outside forest shower. From the deck one has mountain views as well as access to the myriad of tiny forest birds that abound in this area. The living area has a wood burning fireplace and television; this is open-plan to a fully equipped kitchen. There is a weber supplied for braais (barbequing) on the deck.
